The indigenous people of America or the American Indians are the people who lived in north- and south-America before the European discovering and colonization of north-America from 1942 (and later south-America), and also their descendants who still lives in the continent. The humans came first to the continent of America at the end of last ice age, about 16 000 years ago. North- and South America was the last land-mass who were populated. The indigenous people walked to the country through a land-bridge over Beringstredet between Alaska and Sibir many times. Some of the nations could also have walked into the country by the sea. Most of the people, if not everyone, came from Sibir. The indigenous people settled themselves everywhere, and developed hundred of different ethnic groups.
